Description
Delphine: artist name of Belgian artist Delphine Boël born in 1968.In 1990 cum laude graduated from the Chelsea School of Art, London.
In 1999 she gets her first individual exhibition "The English team" in London.
In the year 2002, her work is exhibited for the first time in her homeland during a controversial exhibition in Hyper Space Gallery in Brussels.
In 2004, she will set Brussels in scene under the theme: 'Have we not seen each other elsewhere?'
She will be known for her more than life -sized, colorful sculptures, which bear witness to a subtle Type of humor. Although she has spent most of her life in London, the spirit of her work remains typically Belgian: very individualistic, sparkling of joy of life and not too seriously taking herself. In her work, nor does she avoid the great questions of life, nor the confrontation with herself, the struggle for the individual right to exist, the dramatic fight against rejection. Certain titles of her works such as blue sky, bad rumors, the truth is liberating, the source of identity, the flight from reality, do not lie.
