Ecotuining is easy: you only have to turn the button in your head. Start with that bag of fertilizer by replacing organic manure and to exchange chemical pesticides for organic. Were you just planning to install a new garden? Then think green from the beginning and make way for a little more nature around your house. Choose plants that fit the bottom of your garden, ensure as much variation as possible, plant bushes with berries, work in layers and keep the ground covered underneath. Try to use as little concrete as possible, gravel paths are so much more environmentally friendly. Limit the size of your lawn, install a vegetable garden, find a place for a compost heap and provide berries and fruit. Your ecotuin is complete with an extra pond or pool. Before you know it, more butterflies fly around, you get extra birds, toads, frogs and salamanders and, who knows, an owl or a hedgehog. Ecological gardening is more than proudly harvesting your own un sprayed fruit and vegetables. It is also a (re) discovery of nature and, above all, an invitation to work less and to enjoy your garden more. Because that's what it's all about, isn't it?
